I was looking for inspiration for EMPATHY CONSTRUCTION lyrics when I came across a docu-video were the story of Asperger's syndrome was told and how the homonymous psychiatrist first began to study children with relational difficulties.
Putting myself in their shoes, I felt so embarrassed that I was considered 'different' simply because my difficulties in relating to others. I immediately felt this need to redeem myself, to tell about the inner conflict I was facing and the empathy I needed to build.
When the time came for video shooting, however, we were faced with the difficulty of having to materialize the concept of empathy.
EMPATHY CONSTRUCTION is definitely one of our most groovy songs. What the song conveyed to us was violence, aggression; in our minds, the inner conflict became a maniacal, bluntly fight.
So we involved two professionals athletes and asked them to fight at their best in an underground ring. In this private club the people watching bet money on it, and they probably reserve even more violence.
This was our way of telling and involving our audience in the theme of empathy, a clandestine fight where money is the boss.
